This is an experimental drawing course, utilizing the figure, providing further concentration on basic drawing concepts. Emphasis is placed on descriptive and perceptual drawing, using both wet and dry media, and color. Students learn basic anatomy and will begin to develop an understanding of the way a figure inhabits space; thus able to successfully reproduce this space in two dimensions and later developing a personal style within the confines of academic figurative art.

I like the way this artist captured negative space.
Scrimshaw is an art all it own. I like the placement of his marks even though the ivory did not cover all of the space. He is very creative. This artist shows that everything does not have to be perfect. I would like to try scrimshaw. I did have ivory keys from an old pump organ that I dismantled at one time.
The next two artist captured negative space. I can look into them and it is like being there. The willow drawing reminds me of the tree I had in my yard in Illinois. The "Agony in the Garden" painting captures the view of trees along a dirt road on our farm in Iowa. I like to draw and paint trees. I find that each drawing or painting has its own personality depending on creative ability at the time.
I like the work of the next seven artist.

Terry,
ReplyDeleteMake sure you have your list of 10 artists you LIKE/ 10 that are NOT WORKING for you. and then for THREE artists you feel MOST STRONGLY ABOUT (good OR bad) you need: 1) an image 2) a link to a site/ artist statement 3) a summary paragraph of what this artist is about 4) a paragraph on WHY you feel strongly about the work (what is working/ not working, speaking to you, etc)
If you copied and pasted your written statement from a word document I can't read it at all. (Maybe white text? ) try again? Beautiful images :)
