SEAMUS L. O'BRIEN
O'Brien
creates his work based on how children see the world by making his
pieces come to live with bright colors and fun fonts and characters. His
work catches the eyes of how people can see and relate to reality that
is based upon amusement and happiness.
His
work really caught me eyes, just because he includes animation in his
work, but because his work also reminds of the old time posters that
would promote the circus when I was a child. The different bright colors
and the fun characters that he incorporates into his pieces reminds me
of what it was like to be a kid and not have to face all the challenges
that I am facing these days.
MATTHEW FREEL
Freel
paints and draws the most powerful and strongest, good and evil people
in history and mythology. The majority of his pieces are done through
the inspiration of masculinity and conflict. As he works on his work, he
always looks for an emotional response from the imagery and the medium.
His
piece "Apollo (Son of Krypton)" is the first piece that caught my eyes.
When I first looked at it, it reminded me of an image of Superman. The
placement and usage of the red and blue colors in this piece makes me
see a resemblance of Superman.
LISE HALLER BAGGESEN
Baggesen's
works mainly for the eyes of the teenage population. Her inspiration
comes from the pop music and lyrics, which casts as a personal narrative
for her pieces.
Her
work extremely caught my eyes and the fact that music plays a huge part
in her work, made me like her work much more. I feel like I can relate
to her work, because as an artist and a musician, music and art are a
huge part of my life. Because she incorporates the lyrics and rhythms of
music into her work demonstrates that she is passionate about what she
loves.
