pieces of the puzzle

I used pastel and a small sketchbook sheet for this image with different blending tools to create this image. The image itself is of one set of shapes, but missing parts of the whole. The idea was to show that even though we cannot see all of the universe that we exist in, that we still are complete even without a tangible part. The gaps may even draw the eyes to those items that are right in front of us. The use of white and red was to show that wither it is a good (the white), or bad (the red), both are necessary and that a balance is maintained without our effort.
